Making Our Own Wedding Video

I’ve been editing wedding videos for more than 3 years now. But today, it’s gonna be different because what I will be making is our own wedding video.

We finally got married last December 20, 2011 and I really want to thank the Lord for everything. Of course to my family, cousins, brothers and sisters, friends, thanks really! (Okay, let me not repeat my speech here, he he…) I’m just happy that some of the members of Quadro (where I work as a video editor) came to document our wedding.

Anyway, I got our raw videos immediately last January but I haven’t have enough time to edit it. One reason also why I’m not yet editing it is that, it’s just a one-cam set up so I was also waiting for our photos for me to insert them in the output as well.

Well, I finally got our wedding photos as well and they are really nice! I understand that the team was really busy specially last December so we really have to wait for our photos to arrive. And now that they are already here, it’s time to get my feet wet in editing our wedding video.

It’s a bit weird seeing your own self in the video you are editing though. I’m used to editing others’ wedding video and now it’s a bit funny making mine. I really don’t look good in most of the shots which I really hate, he he… It’s a good thing my wife is still beautiful so I’m sure this video of ours will still look great!

Our wedding is just a simple wedding so there might be less outward great views in the video. What I’m planning to do then is to incorporate some our photos by adding some 3D photomontage. We also had our prenup photos and videos so I might include them as well.

My boss used an FX1 in shooting our wedding. He usually use Canon 60D in shooting weddings but since he is the only video camera man this time, he used the FX1 to capture the audio well specially in the messages. He also didn’t use any equipment for artistic shots like slider or glidecam. The only thing he got is a tripod so the videos are really simple. I still like them though. They are simple but they look great. Of course he is still a great videographer and I thank him for all his help.

So I’ll keep you posted about the making of this wedding video of ours. I’m really not sure if when will I be able to finish it fully but I might make a highlight teaser first. Check that out!
